Water Voles

Water Voles are protected from harm and disturbance and are material considerations for individual planning applications under National Planning Policy Framework.

At Skilled Ecology we are trained and experienced in undertaking checks for signs and evidence of Water Vole activity and Water Vole habitat scoping surveys.

We always look for ways of avoiding impact on Water Voles and costly mitigation. However, if this is not possible within your development then we are experienced in designing and implementing mitigation strategies.

By following standard Water Vole survey guidelines you can be assured of quality that will satisfy the Local Planning Authority.

Checks for signs and evidence of Water Voles particularly for holes can be undertaken at any time of year, though the peak survey season is between April and September when Water Voles are most active.
